Pre-year one Sight Words: Look to Said
Words like "my" and "said" appear often in children's texts but are difficult for many children, especially new readers, to sound out phonetically. Called sight words, these words are more easily learned through memorization. To help your child get a leg up on reading, incorporate sight words into his daily life with these colorful word flash cards. Cut them out and tape them up around the house—he'll have them memorized in no time!
