Rosa Parks: Historical Heroes
Rosa Parks was an American civil rights activist whose refusal to give up her seat to a white bus passenger in Montgomery, Alabama marked a turning point in U.S. history. In this worksheet, children learn how Parks' act of defiance inspired the Mongomery bus boycott and the end of segregationist policies in the American South. After reading a short passage, children answer a set of reading comprehension questions designed to help them reflect on what they have learned. Designed for a year three history curriculum, this worksheet supports children as they learn to answer who, what, where, why, and how questions.
