Dorothea Lange and the FSA Photographers
Children learn about three women who emerged as influential photographers during the Great Depression in the United States through the FSA program. Students read how Dorothea Lange, Marion Post Wolcott, and Louise Rosskam all used photography to tell a different story about America, and in doing so show the power of photography and female photographers. After reading a short passage, students complete a series of comprehension questions and graphic organizers. This fourth and year six social studies worksheet lends well to Women's History Month.
