There are some key grammar tips to remember surrounding verbs including subject-verb agreement, irregular verb forms, past and present tenses, and other strange rules. There is a hands-on activity, Write Silly Sentences to Master Verb Tense, that does exactly what the title suggests. The teacher writes a variety of verbs and nouns on strips of paper, then students form sentences based on the strips they draw out of a paper bag. The Back in the Day lesson plan is a way for students to share a story about their past and practice past-tense verbs (especially the confusing irregular past-tense verbs that don't end in –ed).
