Chinese New Year

Chinese New Year is a multi-day celebration that marks the beginning of the lunar new year. Some customs associated with this holiday are the giving of red envelopes to young people (that usually contain money), exchanging small gifts of food, hanging lanterns, watching fireworks, and attending parades that feature large dragon and lion dances. These resources will help you with teaching Chinese New Year traditions. Find more cultural activities in our Cinco de Mayo resources.
